Nearly twenty years after it first aired on our screens though, we take a look at what Liz, Max, Maria and co are now up to…Roswell was Shiri’s breakout role after years appearing in adverts and as a guest star in shows including Beverly Hills 90210 and Xena: The Princess Warrior.The role was a critical success and allowed Shiri to break out of her typecast role as the ‘sweet girl’ – and she fully broke away from that role when she was cast in the critically acclaimed Emmy-nominated drama Un Real.
Shiri starred in all three seasons of the beloved drama as Liz Parker, a high school student who is shot in her family’s local cafe before being saved by her mysterious classmate Max – who turns out to be out of this world. Following the end of the show in 2002 Shiri starred in several short-lived TV shows and poorly received films but in 2013 made her comeback with a controversial guest role in Lena Dunham’s hit HBO drama Girls.
She starred as Natalia, a woman who Adam begins to date but who becomes upset when Adam is forceful and degrading towards her in bed.
He starred as the alien Max Evans for three years and was nominated for two Saturn awards, and in 2004 he had a starring role alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar – who he had previously worked with for one episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer – in the horror film The Grudge.
It was on that set that he met his wife, Ka Dee Strickland, the star of Secret And Lies, and the pair now have a baby boy.
Roswell was the little drama that could, running for three seasons and facing cancellation after every season.
